Okay...

This game is genuinely really fun! I really enjoy the character designs, the music, and it really gives off an early playstation aesthetic.

I would give this game a higher rating, if not for one thing a lot of Indie games suffer.

The fanbase.
What a lot of people don't understand is Friday Night Funkin' is an (as of November 2023) early beta rhythm game, rhythm games are intended to have catchy music, and fun mechanics, but a majority of the fanbase doesn't understand that. Thus, there are many modifications of this game that make it nearly impossible with god awful songs, like for an example, Dave and Bambi; I'm not saying the mod is bad, it's fine, but the community makes intentionally awful songs, very few I can actually enjoy (Example: OG) but songs like Hellbreaker and phonophobia are intentionally spammy and not very fun.

and I feel like I have to address this because it's a very big problem with the fanbase.
A younger demographic being fans of this game.
This isn't as big of as an issue now than back in 2021-2022, but this is a 13+ game, its not exactly for kids, but people call out mods for being inappropriate, while I don't really support the idea of large body parts on an OC, you gotta understand this isn't a kids game, there are adult jokes that younger audiences won't understand, younger viewers will more and likely get their grubby little hands all over this game, which means you may see a young child imitating the vocaloid like sounds or the choppy movements in public, which could ultimately leave people, especially parents with second hand embarrassment.

Overall, Friday night funkin' is a genuinely appealing game with very fun mechanics and catchy vocaloid like music, however when you dive more into the community, you'll find a lot of odd things. However not to say the fandom only has cringey kids, there are some really talented people in the community. This game has serious protentional, I'm excited for whats to come next for this wacky little game.
